This free program is presented by Wausau Metro Strong in partnership with the Aspirus Health, the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce and Northcentral Technical College. Nobody plans to be a victim or to witness a tragedy, but anyone can be a hero by learning several life-saving techniques. A person with uncontrolled bleeding can die within five minutes, so it is important to quickly stop blood loss. Anyone at the scene of a motor vehicle crash, workplace injury, mass shooting or other emergency can act as an immediate responder and save lives … if they know what to do. Aspirus Wausau Hospital’s Trauma Team will teach attendees basic techniques to control bleeding using their hands, dressings and tourniquets. Registration is required.
