89Q Radio is seeking a part-time Events Manager to work closely with our programming and management teams. The Events Manager will play a vital role in creating and executing promotional strategies, events, and appearances that align with 89Q's mission and vision.

Responsibilities: 

As an Events Manager at 89Q Radio, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing the planning and execution of 89Q Signature events.

Facilitating off-site activities and maintaining the integrity of 89Q brand's presence at all events and sponsored activities.

Identifying local events and community initiatives that support 89Q's marketing and mission.

Developing and executing strategies to raise 89Q's awareness in Wausau and North Central Wisconsin.

Overseeing the planning and execution of station events.
 

Objectives of this Role:

In this role, your primary objectives will include:

Overseeing the planning and execution of 89Q Signature events.

Upholding the company’s mission and vision at every event.

Managing budgets and timelines effectively.

Creating and maintaining consistency in events planning and execution.

Maintaining and growing a strong volunteer base for events.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

Experience in event planning or event coordination.

A proven track record of organizing creative and successful events.

Excellent organizational, communication, negotiating, and multitasking skills.

The ability to remain calm under pressure.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

A heart for Christian ministry.

Strong moral character.

Comfortable with praying in front of and for small and large groups.

Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is spiritually grounded with a working knowledge of scripture.

An active member of a Bible-believing local church.

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant job experience in lieu of a degree.

Established relationships with vendors.

Experience in managing budgets and tracking expenses.

Proficiency in PowerPoint, Acrobat, and Excel.

A creative and enthusiastic team player.

Strong administrative and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Radio industry experience is a plus.

Must be able to drive station vehicles.

Availability to work flexible hours and weekends.

Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain brand standards.

Exceptional planning and multitasking skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

Strong negotiation skills.

The ability to build and foster relationships.

Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

A strong network of established community connections is preferred.
 

Physical Requirements: The role may require the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and some climbing. Additionally, the employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
