Hurricane Helene Relief

Gift Card Collection

This spring, teams from North Central Wisconsin will travel to Hendersonville, NC to help in long-term relief efforts after Hurricane Helene. They will be rebuilding houses for those who lost their homes. You can help by donating Home Depot or Lowe's Gift cards. (There are no Menards stores in NC) These will be used by the teams and homeowners to buy materials for rebuilding. Home Depot in NC has offered the team a discount, so Home Depot cards are first choice if possible. You can bring the gift cards in any amount to 89Q at 3500 Stewart Ave, Wausau, WI until April 18. We are open to collect M-F 8am to 3 pm. Please include the receipt for the gift card and mark the amount on the card using permanent marker.

Teams include Todd Tosch who is a missionary for ReachGlobal Crisis Response and also Highland Community Church.

Daddy Date Night Scholarship

If you know a family who would be blessed by 89Q's Daddy Date Night, but are unable to attend due to financial hardship, you can nominate them for a scholarship.  89Q's Daddy Date Night is happening on April 26th at the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center.

Americans With No Address Documentary Screening

In partnership with Community Partners Campus, Bridge Street Mission, and the Wausau Police Department, The Grand Theater is proud to host a screening of Americans With No Address, a 90-minute documentary that investigates the homelessness crisis in America and captures the untold stories of those experiencing homelessness while at the same time trying to find answers to the problem.

The documentary team spent three weeks interviewing people in 20 major cities across 18 states, including top experts on homelessness, CEOs and Executive Directors of local and national nonprofit organizations, and political leaders. They also interviewed individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness.

The documentary, narrated by William Baldwin, illuminates this pressing social issue. For further information, visit the Americans With No Address website.

Doors open at 7:00 PM for the screening. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged.

By May 7 2025, travelers 18 and older will need real ID, military ID or US passport at airport security. You can get these at the DMV, You'll need to provide proof of legal presence in US, 2 proofs of address, and more. Learn how to get one in Wisconsin.
