St. Vincent De Paul
Our thrift store offers a wide variety of clothing, furniture, household goods, and so much more.
United Way Community Closet
Open to anyone to shop, free of charge. Stocked with clothing, shoes, jackets, scrubs, maternity clothes and more.
Kuschel & Kuschel
Servicing seniors and the handicapped with removal and recycling services. Contact David if in need of household items.
Food
USDA Summer Meal Program
Provides any child under 18 with a full meal. Many locations — times and days vary.
Bridge Street Mission
Warm location for fellowship Mon–Fri 10am–3pm with in-person sit-down lunches 12–1pm. To-go meals also available.
The Neighbors’ Place Food Pantry
Distributes donated and government commodity foods in Wausau 4 days a week.
The Salvation Army
Free hot lunches Mon–Sat 11:30am–12:30pm. Bread & Produce Distribution Mon–Fri at 10:30am. Food Pantry Mon–Fri 10:30–11:30am & 12:30–2:30pm.
Community Action Partnership
Distributes fresh and non-perishable food every other Friday 2–4pm at Ministry of Christ Community Church.
Community Center of Hope Food Pantry
Community food pantry for southern Marathon County residents in need.
Community United Pantry
Food pantry for Colby, Curtiss, Abbotsford and Dorchester residents in an emergency.
Covenant Food Pantry
Emergency food for area families in need. 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month 3–5pm.
Edgar Circle of Joy Food Pantry
Emergency food for Edgar and Marathon City areas. 1st Wednesday 9–11am and 3rd Wednesday 2–4pm at Edgar Village Hall.
First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry
Food distribution on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 1–2pm.
Jireh Food Pantry
Located in Weston, WI. Delivers perishable and non-perishable food by appointment only.
Mosinee Circle of Joy
Food assistance for Mosinee area residents in need, by appointment only.
Ruby’s Pantry
A generous share of surplus food for a $25 donation, one day a month. Locations in Wausau, Medford, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and Rhinelander.
Saint Agnes Food Pantry
Community food pantry for area residents in emergency need. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 3–5pm.
Saint Florian’s Food Pantry
For anyone in emergency need in Hatley. 3rd Tuesday and the following Saturday 9am–Noon.
Saint Paul’s Food Distribution
Food distribution for people in need, while supplies last. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 9am–Noon.
Wesley Church Food Pantry

Good Shepherd Shelter
Overnight shelter during winter months (November–April) for adults 18+ without a warm place to stay.
Bridge Street Mission Sober Living Center
Short term and extended stay for men at 1140 W. Bridge St, Wausau.
Crisis Stabilization
North Central Health Care offers short term, non-medical crisis stabilization with counseling, therapy, and rehabilitation. Youth crisis program also available.
Salvation Army Transitional Living Center
Community shelter and support for local homeless population. Offers case management, employment assistance, and computer training.
Women’s Community Safe Shelter
Shelter for victims of domestic abuse, human trafficking, or sexual assault and their children. Support groups, advocacy, and specialized services provided.
Emergency Assistance Program
For needy families with a child facing homelessness, energy crisis, fire, flood or natural disaster. Call to make an appointment.
