The Marathon County Historical Society is throwing open the doors of several storage areas and letting you in to take a look. You’ll see how our artifact curators and archivists work diligently to collect, preserve and store the objects entrusted to the historical society. You’ll have the opportunity to see what’s behind the locked doors, ask questions about what our staff does, see what we collect and more.
The history of a community is often told by the things that are left behind. The the 1950’s, the Marathon County Historical society has been collecting these “things”. As Wausau celebrates the 150th anniversary of receiving their city charter, the work of the historical society is even more important.
